Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen needs volunteers in the following areas. For more information call Mission Coordinator, Donna Shaffer at 570-996-5005 or cell number 570-335-1490.
I. Food Collection & stocking includes pick-ups from Weis Markets and Wal-Mart. Food Collection is Monday thru Friday at 9:00 a.m. at Weis Markets; Wal-Mart on Friday at 1 p.m. Volunteers need to be able to lift 40 pounds and have a big car, SUV or pick-up. It includes putting the donations on the shelves. Most days it takes about an hour, Fridays may take several hours. We will schedule around the volunteer’s availability.
II. If you’ve dreamed about owning a restaurant but it wasn’t financially feasible, think about taking one night a week or once a month at the Soup Kitchen. With some training you can manage your own crew of volunteers, plan, prepare & serve the meal. From start to finish it’s about four hours.
III. Food prep crew members to help prepare meal, serve and clean-up. Hours 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Groups are welcome.
